Maple Grove is a beautiful and spacious facility that hosts approximately 750 preschool through fifth-grade students. In addition to strong core academic, social and emotional programs, our school offers additional support services in the areas of Reading Lab, Special Education, Extended Learning and English as a Second Language. Along with the other elementary buildings in our district, we have a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of all students through differentiated instruction and research-based practices.
We believe that through teaching, modeling and practicing, Maple Grove Elementary students will show good character by demonstrating safe, caring, respectful and responsible behaviors. We also believe acknowledging and recognizing students when they demonstrate those core values will promote continued positive behavior. Additionally, as a 2017 nationally recognized Leader in Me Lighthouse school, we provide an innovative, school-wide model that emphasizes a culture of student empowerment and helps unleash each child’s full potential. Applying The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®, teachers and students internalize timeless leadership principles that nurture the skills students need for success in the 21st century.
Every year brings new faces to Maple Grove and we continue to have excellent teachers and support staff, committed to using a collaborative approach to provide a safe and respectful learning environment that promotes and embraces growth for all learners. Our staff and students value the wonderful support of our families, the dedication of our volunteers and the resources provided by our community. We are very proud to be a part of the Waukee Community School District! Please stop in to meet our office staff, volunteer in the classroom or just see how you can partner in your children’s learning and growing.
